WHERE DOES PEQ WORK?
Proyecto Ecológico Quetzal works in the mountains of Alta Verapaz to conserve and protect its forests. Specifically, we are working in the mountain highlands of Yalijux, Guaxac Caquipec, Chamá as well as with three communities surrounding the Laguna Lachuá National Park.
Our eco-tourism opportunites are run in conjunction with Maya Q'eqchi' communities in the cloud forest of Chicacnab and in the sub-tropical rainforest of Rokjá.
